2. Do FlipFlop Leos run small or large?
FlipFlop Leos run true to the girth measurement. It is very important to measure for leotard sizing. The length has to be right to avoid wedgies or drooping shoulders. 6. Are FlipFlop Leos machine washable?
All the fabric used to sew FlipFlop Leos is machine washed and tumble- dried prior to sewing, so I consider them machine washable. They should be washed inside out in a gentle cycle . The only exceptions are foiled and hologram leotards. They can be tumble-dried but I highly recommend hanging them to dry. Other garments in a drier load can actually “sand” off foils and hologram. Foils should not be dried in direct sun-light which can fade them. Caution: Velcro should never be in a wash load with leotards – Velcro will seek out leotards, stick to them and cause them to be picked!

7. Do you sew custom leotards? Custom requests?
I frequently sew custom requests. Is the size you want showing out of stock? Just ask me. If I have the fabric, I’ll make it and list it, usually within minutes. Is your gymnast crazy about something you don’t see on my site? I’ll be happy to search for a particular request – pandas? Ice Cream Cones? Owls? Although I don’t list solid black leotards, I frequently fill requests for them for girls who are also involved in dance. Has your gymnast outgrown the size chart I have posted? 8. Do you sew long sleeve leotards?

10. Does FlipFlop Leos sew competition leotards?
I can provide simple competition leotards, but I am a seamstress; not a pattern creator. I cannot sew the complicated inserts and complex designs that are popular for competition leotards since I do not have a large variety of patterns. Neither do I apply jewels or crystals.
11. Do you sew American Girl Doll leotards to match?
Unfortunately, no. I tried several times to make the little leotards but found out that neither my machines, my patience nor my fingers were up to the task of the tiny arm and leg holes! When I realized that the bad language was actually coming from my own mouth, I decided to stick to what I do best – gymnastics leotards for gymnasts.
